Public Notice - Covid 19 - Update 18th March 2020

The Coronavirus is impacting everyone in our communities and it is with sadness that we have had to suspend worship services in our Methodist Churches, this is in line with the Governments most recent guidance.  Our churches will be abiding by this guidance which means that we will not be meeting either for fellowship, worship or business on church premises or in homes.

This is a totally new situation for us all, and we are aware that at a time when people would usually look to the church for support and prayer, we are having to adapt what we can offer.  Through the Circuit’s web site and new Facebook page SWTMethodistCircuit we will be providing opportunities for worship at home, including an online 'Sunday at Home' act of worship for people to engage with each Sunday at 10.30am.  We are also hoping to provide worship at home sheets for those without internet access. More information to follow.

In these extraordinary times, pastoral support is incredibly important.  Please remember we don’t stop being church just because we are not able to meet together and we will commit to keep in touch with each other by phone and care for one another.  If you have concerns for anyone please get in touch with your minister or pastoral link.

Together we hold this pandemic before God and seek wisdom, compassion and protection in this time of fear and uncertainty. For we remember the wise words of Paul to Timothy when he wrote: ‘God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control.’

On behalf of Circuit Leadership Team
